Our products
The only difference is the weight and the container — what is inside comes from the same lot. That is why the price per gram is written under every price.
INSIDE ONE GRAM
Inside one gram
450
stigmas. One gram of dry saffron is gathered from roughly 150 flowers, and each flower has only three stigmas.
November, ten days
The flower
The flower opens in autumn, between night and morning, and wilts by midday.
Morning, 6:00 — 10:00
Picking
The flower is plucked by hand, at the stem, and placed in a basket.
After picking, the same day
Separating
Three red stigmas are separated from each flower by hand.
The same day, in the shade
Drying
The threads are dried in the shade, with natural airflow.
QUALITY
Check for yourself that it is genuine
Most of the saffron sold in the world is either adulterated or not saffron at all. The four tests below apply just as much to our own product.
For example: RG-2025-0412
- Colour in water
Real saffron gives up its colour in hot water slowly, over ten to fifteen minutes, and the water turns golden yellow. The thread keeps its own red. If it gives red water at once, it is dye.
- The shape of the thread
One end of the stigma is thin, the other widens like a tube. “Threads” of even width, cut straight, are usually dyed corn silk or safflower petals.
- The yellow part
If there are many yellow or white pieces in the pack, the weight has been made up with style, not stigma. We separate the yellow part and discard it.
- Smell and taste
It smells of something between dry grass and honey, and it tastes bitter — not sweet. A sweet taste means a sugar additive.

RECIPES
You have bought it. Now how much to use?
The most common mistake is using too much — when there is too much saffron it gives bitterness, not aroma. Every recipe states the measure in grams, and what you need can go into the cart with one click.
